We arrived in Nottingham quite early, the gala didn't start until 5:30pm so we had time to have a little shop around before going back to the hotel to get sorted for the show. We got to the national Ice centre around 3:30pm (even though we had tickets, none of the seating was reserved) and then were allowed into the actual arena around 4:30pm to take our seats for the gala starting. We were sat pretty near the back, but to be honest I didn't mind because it meant we got a view of the whole rink.
The show was really good! There were kids and adults form the National Ice arena skating classes putting on all sorts of performances and the atmosphere was amazing. Then appeared Jayne and Chris holding the torch. There aren't enough words to describe how amazing their routine was, my sister and I got quite emotional watching them!
Once their routine was over they then headed for market square to carry the torch and to light the cauldron which was set on a huge stage in the middle of market square. I'm still overwhelmed when I think about what we got the chance to watch, something that won't happen again. They looked so proud whilst skating and running with the torch, something I'll never forget!
