Review: Clean and clear dual action moisturiser....

I've already reviewed the Clean and clear exfoliating daily wash (link at the end) and am now about to review the Clean and clear dual action moisturiser.

The claims:
'Clean and clear dual action moisturiser combines oil free moisturisers which won't clog pores with a proven spot-fighting ingredient to help prevent spots and blemishes. Leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and beautiful every day. Fragrance free for even sensitive skin.'

I love this moisturiser! The fact that it's oil free helps, as I have oily to combination skin. Again with this, I noticed a difference after two uses. It leaves my skin SO soft and it soaks in literally straight away, which means that it can be used as a base for make up.
I definitely think this has kept my spots at bay. Once applied and soaked into the skin, this gives a VERY slight tingle to the skin. It's not an annoying or strong tingle, it's kind of a fresh feeling. I have no idea if any of that even makes sense, it does it my head :P

Another thing I love about this is it can be used as a spot treatment. It doesn't say anywhere on the tube that it has this use, but Miss budget beauty mentioned in one of her videos that she uses it for this purpose as well as a moisturiser. I tried it and it works really well. And it doesn't dry out the surrounding skin like so many other spot treatments do.

This moisturiser and face wash are definitely part of me skin routine now.

Thumbs up from me!!

Review: Clean and clear exfoliating daily wash....

One of my favourite youtubers is Miss Budget Beauty. In a few of her videos she's talked about the clean and clear dual action moisturiser, saying how amazing it is and that it's something that she repurchases time and time again. So, as you may have seen in my 'Birmingham haul' I bought the moisturiser and the exfoliating daily wash on offer.

I've had these for a few weeks (I needed to use up my Liz Earle cleanse and polish first) and think that I've used them long enough now to give an honest review.

First up: The exfoliating daily wash:

The claims:
'Clean and clear exfoliating daily wash contains gentle micro-beads which effectively remove dirt,oil and dea skin cells that can block pores and lead to spots and blackheads. Its gentle exfoliating action will leave your skin beautifully smooth and clear'

I totally agree with all of those claims. Even after using this twice, I noticed a difference with my skin. It felt smooth soft and clean, and it definitely helped keep any spots at bay.

I think this has taken place of my simple face wash!!

The lowdown:

* Cost - £2.85
* 150ml
* Does everything it says on the tube
* Definitely a face wash I recommend

Review: MUA BB cream in light....

I literally think I'm the last person in the world to try a BB cream. If I'm honest, they just never really appealed to me at all. I love my revlon colorstay foundation, and didn't feel the need to change it. However I gave in and picked up the MUA BB cream in light and thought I'd give it a whirl.

The day after I bought this I ran out of face primer so thought I'd just use this until I could get out and buy a primer. I have to say, I quite like it as a primer. I wouldn't use it everyday this way because the consistency is quite thick, so the BB cream plus my foundation is a bit much to wear on a daily basis.

I did find that having this as a base, meant I didn't need to use concealer in any redness or spots because this is pretty mush a medium coverage and hid any imperfections I had.
After around 5 hours, I did notice that it wore off on my forehead and chin, and started to look a little cakey. This could be down to the fact that I have an oily T-zone?

When I tried this alone, I actually quite liked it too. The colour matches me perfectly, and again with this being a medium coverage it concealed a lot so I only added a small amount of concealer to my under eye area then slapped my power over the top, and I was ready to go. I did find that after around an hour and  a half, it started to cling to my pores, and again it seemed to separate on my chin and forehead. I do actually think this could be down to my oily skin, I found that this happened so many times before with different foundations I tried out.

The lowdown:
* Cost - £4.00
* 30ml
* Very slight perfume smell
* Light matches my skin colour perfectly
* Blends easily
* As a primer, makes make up look flawless
* Medium coverage
* Quite thick consistency
* I found it to be a medium coverage, not full

I definitely think that I'll keep using this as a primer, especially for nights out because my make up really does look flawless with this.

Review: Barry M Bold waterproof eyeliner....

I don't know if it's just me, but whenever I wear pencil liner it tends to end up halfway down my face after about an hour, which really isn't a good look lets face it. For months I've been wearing the Gosh velvet touch pencil liner, and I've been loving it but it still either ran a teeny bit, or it lost it's pigmentation.

In superdrug last week, I spotted Barry M's 'Bold waterproof liner' for £3.99 (Bargain!) and picked it up in black.

I decided to test it out 6 different ways:
* Upper lashline
* Lower lashline
* Waterline
* Tightline
* Smudged along upper lashline
* Smudged along lower lashline

Here's my thoughts:

* Upper lashline: Creamy and smooth to apply
                           Lasted 8+ hours (only came off because I washed it off)
                           Colour didn't fade or smudge at all
                           Not so easy to get a 'flick'

* Lower lashline: Lasted around 2 hours then colour faded to a grey colour
                           After around 2 and a half hours liner appeared to 'drop' to under eye area

* Waterline: Smooth application
                   Extremely pigmented at first
                   Colour started to fade after around 2 hours

* Tightline: Glided on so smooth
                  Didn't transfer to waterline (I find with other pencil liners the colour transfers to waterline when I        shut my eye/blink)
                  Colour didn't fade at all
                  Lasted 12 hour, stayed as pigmented as when I first applied

*Smudged along upper: Smudges easily
                                     Once dry, stays put
                                     Colour faded very slightly
                                     Lasted 8+ hours (only came off because I washed it off)

* Smudged along lower: Isn't as pigmented, need to layer it up for very black
                                     Smudges easily
                                     Dropped to under eye area after around 2 hours

The claims:

* 8 hours wear
* Smooth as liquid liner
* Waterproof

For the most part, I did find that it lasted 8+ hours (mainly when used on upper eye area). I definitely agree that it's smooth as a liquid liner and that it's waterproof. It took me a while to wash it off, not complaining though :P

The lowdown:

* Cost - £3.99
* Colours - 7
* Extremely creamy
* Very smooth to apply
* Smudges easily when you want it to
* Does what is says 'on the tin'
* Takes slightly more effort to remove from tightline
* Definitely buying more
* Definitely buying for kit
* Definitely recommend

Amazement....collection lasting perfection concealer

Ok this is going to be a very random post, but I have to post it. I've ran out (or so I thought) of my collection lasting perfection concealer, and for the past few days have been literally scraping the sides of the tube to get the last of it out. Until I had a brainwave! I decided to cut the bottom of the tube off this morning to see if I could get one more use out of it, and boy did I!!!

There's literally half a tube left! It's all stuck at the bottom and at the neck of the tube where the applicator can't reach.

So before you bin it, chop the bottom off and scrape the product out.

Amazed :P

Eye eye: Eye of the night....

I'm off out tonight with my girls for food, wine and a little gossip - perfect night in my book :) So I thought I'd post an 'eye of the night'

Here's what I'm wearing:

* MUA BB cream in 'light' (as a primer)
* Revlon colorstay foundation in '180 sand beige'
* Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in 'fair'
* 17 pressed powder in 'neutral'
* e.l.f bronze and blush duo (using bronzer for contour)
* Bourjois blush in 'cendre de rose brune'
* e.l.f eyebrow kit in 'medium'
* Benefit highbeam
* MUA eye primer
* MUA eyeshadow in shade '1'
* MUA eyeshadow in shade '27'
* MAC eyeshadow in 'satin taupe'
* MUA liquid liner in 'black'
* Clinique high impact mascara
* Barry M bold waterproof eyeliner pencil in 'black'
* Rimmel lasting finish lipstick in '006 pink blush'

That looks like SO much make up when it's all listed!! I don't contour everyday, and I've ran out of face primer so using the MUA BB cream (which works well as a primer I might add) just for tonight.

 Eye make up:

* First I applied my MUA eye primer
* I then applied MUA eyeshadow in shade '1' all over my lid, in the tear duct area and as a hightlight on my browbone
* Next I packed on MUA eyeshadow shade '27' to the outer half of my lid, and blended in slightly into my crease
* I took MAC's satin taupe on a 217 blending brush and blended the colour into my crease, and a little into the outer V
* I then applied a line and flick of MUA liquid eyeliner to my upper lashline and a splash of mascara
* Lastly I took the MUA eyeshadow in shade '27' and added it to my lower lashline, followed by Barry M's bold waterproof liner

The colours aren't showing true to colour (due to a rubbish camera), the liner is black not a blue/grey but you get the idea :)

Have a great evening everyone!

Thanks for reading :)
