MUA lip boom....

I'm not really one for jumping on the band wagon when it comes to new things being released, I think I'm one of the last ones to go and and buy whatever the product is and then by that time there's something new out. However, this band wagon I was well and truly on: MUA lip booms. These were released online a week or so before they were released in superdrug, and I behaved and waited until I could get one in store. I legged it to superdrug on release day (9th March) and picked one up....yes only one.....for now :P

What are lip booms?
Basically, they're a lipstick and lipgloss duo created by MUA with Alexandra Burke. You can create four looks with them:

* Lipstick on its own
* Lipstick with lipgloss as highlighter in the centre of the lips
* Lipstick with lipgloss all over
* Lipgloss on its own

I love the packaging. It's so easy to just through this in your bag and go, no need for a lipstick and a lipgloss, and like the MUA lipsticks the colour indicator has actual product in it too!

The colour I bought is 'Doin' good'  The lipstick is, I want to say a rose colour and the gloss/ 'highlighter' is a light peachy pink with silver and gold glitter (the gloss smells good enough to eat - like vanilla cupcakes)

The lipstick is matte, but not drying like some matte lipsticks can be, and has a slight scent but not too overpowering.

Putting it to the test:
I LOVE the lipstick!! The colour, pigmentation and staying power are amazing. I wore this for 5 hours and didn't need to reapply once. The 'highlighter' side, I'm not all that keen on to be honest. If you like glitter on your lips, go for it. I found it quite chunky, and could feel it on my lips when I wore it. I like a little shimmer, but not chunks of glitter. I'd definitely buy more of these purely for the lipstick because it's so good.

Thanks for reading :)

  1. I have this shade and found exactly the same thing with the glitter, just too chunky which is a shame, but like you I also love the lipstick on its own !

  2. Glad it's not just me. The gloss looks so pretty, but I don't like the chunkiness of it. I think I might try another to see if it's the same with others x
